S.; Schiapelli, R. S. <br/> <br/>Abstract: Mello-Leitão and Arlé (1934) put their new genus Cenobiopelma (Type-species: C. mimetica) into the family Barychelidae. Schiapelli and Gerschman de Pikeiin (1969), as a result of the study of the second species, Cenobiopelma argentinensis Mello-Leitâo 1941, proved that it is a Theraphosidae, subfamily Ischnocolinae. The systematic position of the genus is here discussed. The description of the [[male] Allotypus is given and a plate with the figures that illustrate the valid characters of male and female is added. The Type specimen of Cenobiopelma mimetica has not been found. It that species is in fact a Barychelidae, Cenobiopelma argentinensis belongs to another genus of the subfamily Ischnocolinae.
